The Incident

Two units owned by the James Hargreaves Group were affected. The company have over 45 units in the north of the UK  specialising in plumbing and heating trade counters, bathroom showrooms and Renewable Energy

Our Response

Harris Balcombe were instructed immediately by the insured and Nick Balcombe who  was in the West Yorkshire area dealing with another major loss attended and headed the claim out of our Leeds office. The most important factor was to keep both units trading and this was achieved with temporary works, wonderful staff assistance  and a determination by our clients that they simply would not close.

The damaged stocks were isolated very quickly and with the assistance of insurers and the loss adjuster’s removed from site. Early last month settlement was reached with Axa  insurance Company with GAB Robins being the loss adjusters. Gerard McCann client services Director  of Blufin  said  “that seems to me to represent a really good outcome.”
