Harris Balcombe Instructed on Major Domestic Insurance Claim
A total of six crews of firefighters spent almost twenty two hours battling the blaze at the mansion which is on the banks of the River Thames in Reading, Berkshire.
Plumes of thick black smoke were seen from across the other side of the River Thames in Tilehurst in Reading.
The roof of the property caved in due to the significant fire and heat damage with dislodged tiles scattered across it, whilst the front windows were cracked or smashed in the heat. The first and second floors were heavily smoke damaged and debris from the house can be seen scattered around the garden. A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said that a joint investigation with the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service had been launched although the origin of the fire was not believed to have been suspicious. At the height of the fire eight pumps were in attendance after an emergency call to the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service just after 3pm on the afternoon of the 28th of December.
The Harris Balcombe team, led by Steve Allso, spent the majority of Monday conducting a full survey of the property. The family will need to be rehoused and this is always our number one priority on householder claims as it is important that family stability be returned as quickly as possible. Going forward our team will be responsible for returning the property to its former glory.
Over the coming weeks we will be co-ordinating insurers and their adjusters and make sure that our team of surveyors is progressing matters as quickly as possible.
With any major domestic insurance claim we make sure that the policy holder gets what they want and not just what the insurance company wants!
