Steven has over twenty years professional experience, with over eighteen of those specialising in the handling of major and complex business interruption cases. He is a leading member of the CILA Special Interest Group on Business Interruption (BI), a member of the CILA Council, and a popular presenter and trainer on the subject of BI and financial risks.
Steven qualified as a Chartered Accountant seventh out of over eight hundred candidates in the wider Midlands region, and went on to become a prize winning Chartered Loss Adjuster.
He was a technical expert on BI for RSA Plc, before leaving to become Associate Technical Director of BI for GAB Robins, a leading UK firm of loss adjusters. Shortly thereafter, he was promoted to the Head of Financial Risks for GAB Robins, before ultimately becoming the Head of BI for the UK’s largest loss adjusting business, Crawford and Company.
Steven has acted successfully as an expert witness on contentious cases, and successfully negotiated settlements on claims that seemed to have stalled before he was brought in to progress them.
He has experience across a wide range of industry sectors including health care, and extensive experience of the hotel and leisure industry, and of manufacturing, printing and recycling claims.
