Harris Balcombe Appoints Business Interruption Specialist – Steven Nock

1st May 2018

Loss assessor and insurance claims consulting firm, Harris Balcombe, has appointed Steven Nock as its technical director and joint head of business interruption.

Working in conjunction with Jonathan Samuelson, Steven will be responsible for managing the growth of the business interruption practice, which is already one of Harris Balcombe’s USPs, but with the added weight of Steven Nock’s expertise it will be seen as a ‘business interruption powerhouse’. He will also lead the firm’s professional qualifications, staff development and help to drive continued growth.

Renowned for his success as a business interruption specialist, Steven Nock brings more than 20 years’ experience to the Harris Balcombe team. He previously worked as a technical expert for RSA plc, then as head of business interruption for both GAB Robins and – more recently – Crawford and Company (UK).

Alex Balcombe, director at Harris Balcombe, said: “Steven’s reputation precedes him and having a loss adjuster of his calibre joining our ranks as loss assessors is a coup for Harris Balcombe and our industry as a whole. We are delighted to welcome Steven into the business. His support will help to build on our work around complex business interruption claims – an area in which the firm is developing an excellent reputation.

“We have seen significant growth over the last five years and have plans to continue on this trajectory. This includes developing our presence in the Midlands, in which Steven will play a significant role. Collaboration is vital, and we believe that by strengthening the quality of our team, we will continue improving the reputation of the industry, and forging greater links within it.”

Steven Nock added: “This is an exciting opportunity, and I am looking forward to becoming part of the Harris Balcombe team – a rapidly growing, highly professional and client-focused business.

“There is vast scope for bringing the skills and knowledge I have to the loss assessing market – representing claimants in their time of greatest need, and really contributing towards better outcomes in the claims process.”

In the Autumn 2018, Nick Balcombe will retire from the business at which point Steven Nock, will take on a role as full equity partner and head of the Midlands office.
